Rock-solid stability. Small, 23-ft (7-m) turning radius. Up to 39-ft (12-m) reach. Today’s Terex® Fuchs MHL331 material handler showcases the optimum balance of power and agility. This material handler quickly and efficiently completes any job at the scrap yard – from loading and unloading to stacking and sorting – and then asks for more.
Not afraid to take the heat, this flexible handler features separate cooling systems with a thermostatically controlled, hydrostatically driven oil cooling fan to efficiently work in searing ambient temperatures reaching 122° (50° C). Optional reversible fans periodically clean the engine and hydraulic oil cooler box filters at pre-set intervals.
The MHL331 handler’s durable, long-lasting design begins with a stout double-row slew ring that increases handler uptime. A large swing drive powers quick and precise slewing of the upper carriage for fast work cycles, so operators can move more material in the same amount of time.  Beefy hydraulic support cylinders on the machine’s four outriggers deliver years of service life in demanding scrap applications, while helping to enhance lift capacities throughout the handler’s operating range. An integrated hydraulic load limit sensing control provides efficient use of power, while protecting the 153 hp (114 kW) turbocharged diesel engine during operation.

 

Inside the heated and air-conditioned, hydraulically height-adjustable cab that offers up to a 17-ft (5.2-m) eye-level elevation, operators efficiently control machine function through left- and right-hand joystick controls configured specifically for material handling applications. The right-hand joystick offers expansion room to control optional equipment, such as the up-and-down movement of the clean-up blade.

The available 35.1-ft (10.7-m) multi-purpose stick gives operators control of the attachment’s up-and-down movement to efficiently sort material without the need to continually reposition the machine. Its 0.65 yd3 (0.5m3) waste grapple with slotted openings enhances sorting flexibility. Yard clean-up and stock-pile shoring are a breeze with the MHL331 handler’s optional clean-up blade.
Scoffing at sustained operation in the blazing temperatures, this flexible handler boasts separate cooling systems with a thermostatically controlled, hydrostatically driven oil cooling fan to quietly and efficiently work in searing ambient temperatures reaching 122° (50° C). Additional box filters for the engine and hydraulic oil coolers and an optional cyclone dust separator at the filter increase machine uptime in extremely dusty applications. Optional reversible fans periodically clean filters at pre-set intervals.
Compact in size, the MHL331 is perfect for both indoor and outdoor applications. It shares the same features of the bigger machines such as a durable double-row slew ring, large swing drive for quick and precise upper carriage slewing, and beefy hydraulic support cylinders on the four outriggers that enable the handler to move tons of material. The 153 hp (114 kW) turbocharged diesel engine features an integrated hydraulic load limit sensing for efficient use of power.
